Recently, it had landed in a huge crisis and was being questioned for data compromise with an analytical firm. The personal data of up to 87 million users of Facebook was obtained by Cambridge Analytica. Cambridge Analytica engages in data mining and brokerage for communication processes. A data scientist Aleksandr Kogan had helped develop an app ‘thisisyourdigitallife’ for Cambridge Analytica. The app encouraged users to take a psychological test and meanwhile collected the user's information. It also collected data from one’s friend list and other information.
